Explore the Producers story
As a basketball athlete from a very early age, I constantly took care of my nutrition and honey was an essential part of my diet. My beloved grandfather, who always stood by my side, was the first person to introduce me to the magical world of a bees and their “gold treasure” as he called honey. It was he who explained the function of a beehive and compared the cooperation and hard work of a successful basketball team to the cooperation of a colony of bees. It was at that young age that I realised success in any form, would come only from such mutual respect, harmony and hard work.
I chose to engage with the raw honey TOMELI as I wish to offer a product with ultimate purity and unparalleled quality. TOMELI organic honey derives from the harmonious cooperation of bees and in order for it to arrive pure to your hands, a cooperation of equal importance takes place, that of myself and partner beekeeper, Vassili. Our collaboration, is based on our common values, the pursuit of common goals and our passion for nature and its most unique product, honey.
Many scientists have reported that if bees disappear, mankind will only survive for a few more years. It is up to us therefore, to adopt a natural lifestyle by integrating into our lives nutritional values that are as necessary as the bee is to nature.
Our permanent apiary is located in the valley of the River Arοanios in north western Peloponnese, where our beehives “rest” for a number of months during the year. In order to produce the raw honey TOMELI, our beehives are transferred to the pine forests of northern Evia.
After careful research, our beehives were placed next to steep mountains and precipitous gorges, at an altitude of over 1000m to ensure the best microclimate and a good amount of nutrition for our bees. There, our bees, in a completely natural and pure environment, perform their complex activity by working collaboratively in order to produce TOMELI, the unique organic honey.
With the preservation and respect of the ecosystem being one of our priorities, we align traditional with innovative methods, in order to extract and pack our precious honey from our beehives and perform quality controls throughout the process.
