About the product
Chamomile is one of the 9 herbs granted by god Waden for anglo-saxon to people. Pharmaceutical species are Roman and German chamomile. In our country we meet Matricaria having proportional qualities with the other 2 types and stronger essence. There is a profusion of chamomile as self-sown plant, in fields as well as in mountainous areas.
The heads of the flowers are used fresh or dried and contain volatile oils. Chamomile contains tannins, flabonoeidh, glycosides, coumarins, salicin and cyanouric glycosides.
It is relaxing, anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and tonic. Is used as infusion, tincture, ointment and lotion with ethereal oil in digestive system problems (dyspepsia, acidity, gastritis, tympanites, gastric ulcer, hiberexcitable enteric syndrome). It reduces tension, stress, muscles and period pains and is also used in bites, gripes, flue, insomnia, tired eyes, wounds, eczema causing itch, mouth inflammations, asthma and bronchitis.
Chamomile might cause dermatitis when is used directly to the skin and ethereal oil should be avoided during pregnancy since it stimulates the uterus.
